Developer guidelines
Faces and voices
Switch’s rules
Permission first. Nobody uploads or uses another person’s picture, video, voice or likeness without that person’s permission or other rights to do so (Switch Terms, section 5.3).
Voices. Only make a copy of a real person’s voice with that person’s permission. A public figure’s voice always needs their clearance.
An invented voice needs none. A voice designed from a written description belongs to nobody, so no consent is needed.
Videos with people. Clips with real people work on every video model. Seedance asks for a verified account; every other model takes them as its own API allows. A clip stored on Switch has to be the account’s own.
Pictures of faces. Through the Switch connector in ChatGPT or Claude, Switch checks every picture and sends a real person’s face down the protected path itself. Through the API, mark a face reference as type face so it gets the same protection.
Never. No sexual or intimate pictures, video or audio of a real person without their consent, nothing sexual showing a minor or someone who looks like one, and no pretending to be someone.
Keep the proof. Keep proof of consent, and show it to Switch if we ask.
